the Benefits of Wood Vinegar
Household Use:
- Wood
vinegar is a versatile natural solution that can replace chemical substances in
the household. It can be used in the following ways:
- Mix 20 parts
water with 1 part wood vinegar (50 ml
per liter of water) to repel termites and ants.
- Mix 50 parts
water with 1 part wood vinegar (20 ml
per liter of water) to protect against termites, ants, and other insects such
as cockroaches, crickets, and mosquitoes.
- Mix 100 parts
water with 1 part wood vinegar (10 ml
per liter of water) to spray at the base of trees to prevent diseases and
pests, and to deter insects from laying eggs. It can also be used to eliminate
odors and flies in bathrooms, kitchens, and damp areas, as well as to
neutralize odors in pet cages.
- Use wood vinegar to ferment fresh
waste and food scraps into fertilizer for ornamental plants around the house.
Mix with water at a ratio of 5 parts water to 1 part wood vinegar after fermentation for one month.
Agricultural Use:
- Highly
concentrated wood vinegar has strong antimicrobial properties due to its high
acidity and components such as methanol and phenol. When diluted 200
times (5 ml per liter of water), it can kill harmful bacteria
and inhibit their growth. Wood vinegar can be used in agriculture in the
following ways:
- Mix 20 parts
water with 1 part wood vinegar (50 ml
per liter of water) and spray into the soil to control soil-borne diseases and
insects, such as root rot and bacterial diseases like Fusarium wilt.
- Mix 50 parts
water with 1 part wood vinegar (20 ml
per liter of water) to eliminate existing plant diseases caused by bacteria.
Note that using a higher concentration may harm the plant roots.
- Soak deteriorated rice seeds in
diluted wood vinegar (300 times dilution, 3.33
ml per liter of water) for 48 hours to enhance seed
germination. The germination rate of soaked seeds is 96.67%,
higher than that of non-soaked seeds and seeds soaked in other solutions.
Animal Husbandry Use:
- Wood
vinegar can be used to reduce odor and repel insects in livestock farms. It can
be mixed with water or added to animal feed to aid digestion and prevent
diarrhea.
- It can
also be used to reduce and eliminate odors and insects in animal enclosures.
Mix 1 part wood vinegar with 100
parts water or use 1 tablespoon of wood vinegar per liter
of water, or 20 tablespoons per 20
liters of water.
- Wood

Apply directly to the affected area 2-3 times a week
without dilution.
- It can
